Every little girl dreams about meeting her Prince Charming, anticipating about the exact moment that she would meet him; just like a princess meeting her prince. It’s love at first sight and then they live happily ever after. Right?
Well, that’s definitely not how I met my prince! And for that matter, I wouldn’t even call him a prince! I remember that he was the bad boy of the block. In fact, I didn’t even like him at first! Come to think of it, our first conversation over the phone ended up with me fuming and hanging up on him; refusing to speak to him again. I’m writing this post in honor of P’s father Papa P who is celebrating his birthday today, January 19. Unfortunately, I couldn’t be there to celebrate the day with him so I wanted to celebrate it with him via this post. I know Papa P will not read this because he doesn’t go on the Internet but I am hoping that P can share whatever I am about to say.
Papa P is a man of a few words and a man of infinite gentleness. I feel that his personality befits his real name. I remember when P and I were still dating that he tried to make me feel comfortable in the midst of their close-knit family. This was especially hard for me because despite what many of you think, I am shy when it comes to meeting people and mingling with them.
